Under the Transport Access Program, Transport for NSW has completed statewide accessibility upgrades and constructed new commuter car parks.
Transport for NSW has completed accessibility upgrades and constructed new commuter car parks across the state, under the Transport Access Program.
Albion Park: Transport Interchange Upgrade
Commenced November 2012
Completed April 2013
Improvements include:
- redesigning and regrading of the ramp on the western side of the station to make it wheelchair compliant
- pedestrian access to the western side bus stop on the Princes Highway
- providing a more user friendly bicycle parking facility
- a formalised kiss and ride area for passenger pick up and drop off.
Allawah: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Improvements include:
- changes to bus stops, footpaths and ramps
- a new 'kiss and ride' pedestrian drop-off zone
- bicycle racks, shelters and fencing
- guides for the visually impaired and signage on both sides of the station to improve accessibility.
Armidale Station Upgrade

Improvements include:
- upgraded ramp at the station building entrance
- new ambulant toilets and a family accessible toilet
- upgraded accessible car spaces and kiss and ride
- a formalised bus stop by the station entrance
- upgraded station pathways, CCTV, lighting and wayfinding.
Arncliffe Pedestrian Link

Improvements include:
- lighting for customer safety and comfort at the bus stops and taxi zones
- pedestrian access to the long stay commuter car park located on the eastern side of Arncliffe Railway Station
- maintaining the pavement to the long stay commuter car park located on the eastern side of Arncliffe Railway Station
- signage to formalise the ‘kiss and ride’ facility on Firth Street.
Arncliffe Station Upgrade

Improvements include:
- four new lifts
- new canopies on the footbridge and platforms, upgraded CCTV surveillance cameras and announcement systems
- new sheltered bus stops, taxi rank and kiss and ride area along Firth Street and new family accessible toilets at the platform level
- two new accessible parking spaces within the existing car park off Burrows Street, upgraded stairs and wayfinding signage, and new bicycle racks.
Artarmon Station Access Upgrade

- two new lifts
- a new pedestrian bridge to improve access from Hampden Road
- a new accessible parking space on Hampden Road.
Ashfield: Commuter Car Park

Improvements to commuter parking by providing around 95 additional spaces on Brown Street. The car park features lifts, new lighting and CCTV cameras, wayfinding signage and bicycle storage facilities.

Austinmer Station Access Upgrade

Balmain East: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Bankstown Station Upgrade

- new stairs and ramps to improve circulation at the northern and southern station entrances
- relocation and installation of ticket barriers
- installation of a covered walkway to the bus interchange
- widening staircase access to platform, and installation of bicycle parking facilities.
Baulkham Hills: New Commuter Car Park and Transport Interchange Upgrade

- a new commuter car park on the corner of Windsor Road and Torrs Street, Baulkham Hills providing 183 car spaces and a 30 space bicycle rack.

Berala Station Upgrade

Berowra: New Commuter Car Park

- a new commuter car park providing 130 spaces and accessible parking which is free and available 24 hours, seven days per week.

Blacktown: New Commuter Car Park
Commenced May 2010

The project included:
- a multi-storey commuter car park along First Avenue, providing 489 new commuter car park spaces, 15 accessible spaces, eight motorcycle spaces and 40 spaces for securing bicycles. The car park also includes lifts, security lighting and CCTV surveillance. Parking is free and available 24 hours, seven days a week.
- the final stage of the Blacktown Commuter Car Park project was completed in May 2012 and involved the creation of a dedicated right hand turn lane at the intersection of Third Avenue eastbound and Prince Street. The new right hand turn lane allows for increased vehicle traffic entering the car park.
Blacktown Station Upgrade

The project included a new footbridge connecting the Richmond Line concourse with the main concourse area, lifts and stairs connecting Platform 3 with the new footbridge, stairs and weather protection canopies to Platforms 1 and 2, and changes to station facilities to improve customer flow.

An accessible bus interchange with kiss and ride, taxi stand, accessible parking, seating and amenities with three dedicated coach and bus bays. There is a pedestrian crossing linking the interchange with the town centre.
Campbelltown: Commuter Car Park Extension

The Campbelltown Commuter Car Park project involved an extension of the existing car park on Farrow Road to create an additional 380 new car park spaces.
Campsie: Transport Interchange Upgrade

- The multi-storey car park, constructed on Fornasier Lane, Canley Vale, provides a total of 122 commuter parking spaces, lift and stair access, accessible parking spaces, lighting and CCTV cameras.
- The car park also features 59 timed parking spaces for shoppers. Commuter parking is free and available 24 hours, seven days per week.
Cardiff: Station Upgrade

- new lifts with three stops linking Council’s Mary Street car park with the station car park and the pedestrian footbridge
- a re-graded ramp and footpath access from the footbridge to Main Road
- a new main station building with accessible paths, weather protection enclosures, upgraded ticket office and a wheelchair and family accessible toilet, and extension of the platform to fit eight-car trains on the platform

Dungog Station Upgrade

Edgecliff Station Upgrade

Emu Plains: New Commuter Car Park

The Emu Plains Commuter Car Park was constructed on the northern side of Emu Plains Station with an entry from Lee Street. The car park provides approximately 275 spaces and includes accessible parking spaces, security lighting and CCTV surveillance.
Engadine: New Commuter Car Park, Footpath and Lighting

- a new commuter car park along the Princes Highway (southbound) and upgrading two accessible parking spaces within the existing car park near the station
- upgrades to stormwater drainage, footpaths and fencing

Epping: Transport Interchange Upgrade

- upgrading the footpath on the western side of Beecroft Road (north of Epping Hotel) and upgrading road, pavement, kerb and guttering
- installing a new bench seat at the existing bus stop on the western side of Beecroft Road.
Fairfield: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Improvements include:
- reconfiguring the bus interchange into the commuter car park previously at the intersection of The Crescent and Court Road
- formalising the kiss and ride zone on the westbound lane of The Crescent
- relocating the taxi rank to the eastbound lane at the western end of The Crescent
- relocating the signalised pedestrian crossing and creating a new zebra pedestrian crossing on The Crescent
- upgrades to the streetscape on The Crescent and throughout the bus interchange, including new paving, street furniture, landscaping and wayfinding signage
- extending the station forecourt to incorporate the historic crane previously located in the bus interchange
- upgrades to CCTV camera surveillance.
Fairy Meadow Station Upgrade

- two new lifts connecting platforms to footbridge
- a new family accessible toilet on each platform
- new kiss and ride
- upgrades to footpaths from car park to station

Faulconbridge Station Upgrade

Flemington Station Upgrade

Gerringong: Station Upgrade

The improvements to Gerringong Station included regrading and widening the existing external ramp which provides access to the platform, and provision of a new Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant car parking space.
Glenbrook Station Upgrade

Glenbrook: Commuter Car Park and Interchange Upgrade

- new commuter car park providing 56 extra car parking spaces and two accessible parking spaces close to the station entrance
- a safer pedestrian crossing and traffic island, improved footpaths, wayfinding signage and security fencing

- upgrades to lighting between the station entrance and the new car park.
Glenfield: New Commuter Car Parks
Multi-storey Commuter Car Park

The multi-storey commuter car park is located north-east of the station with entry off Roy Watts Road. The car park provides approximately 700 spaces and includes accessible parking, lift access to all levels, CCTV surveillance and security lighting. Parking is free and available 24 hours, seven days a week. This car park was delivered as part of the South West Rail Link.
Seddon Park Commuter Car Park

The car park at Seddon Park was extended to provide 117 new parking spaces for commuters using Glenfield Station. The commuter car park includes accessible parking and security lighting with the entrance off Salisbury Avenue, Glenfield.
Gordon: New Commuter Car Parks and Interchange

- Over 130 commuter parking spaces were provided at the upgraded Werona Avenue Commuter Car Park in April 2014
- A new commuter car park and interchange on the western side of Gordon Station, off Henry Street, provides 214 commuter parking spaces (an increase of 135), including five accessible parking spaces. The car park and interchange also includes bicycle racks, motorcycle parking, bus stops, taxi zone, weather protected waiting areas, lighting and CCTV cameras.
Gosford: New Commuter Car Parks

Two new commuter car parks were constructed on Mann Street, Gosford, to provide 86 additional commuter parking spaces in close proximity to Gosford Station.
Goulburn Station Upgrade

Improvements include:
- accessibility upgrades to the paths at the station entrance
- a new accessible kiss and ride bay
- new kerb ramps to the existing bus and taxi zone
- relocated accessible parking spaces to connect to the upgraded pathway to the station entrance
- upgrades to the waiting room and ticket counter on Platform 1
- new Boarding Assistance Zone and accessible help points on Platform 1
- two new ambulant toilets
- improved lighting and wayfinding.
Granville: New Commuter Car Parks and Transport Interchange Upgrade
Completed January 2015
- A new commuter car park on the corner of Rowell and Cowper streets was constructed to provide 20 additional commuter parking spaces in close proximity to Granville Station.
- As part of this project, the Granville bus interchange was upgraded and a new commuter car park on Mary Street which provided 40 additional commuter parking spaces. New public toilets, lighting, CCTV, footpaths and landscaping were also provided.
Greta: Station Upgrade

The improvements to Greta Station included redesigning and rebuilding the existing ramps on both sides of the station and the entrances to improve customer access.
Harris Park Station Upgrade

Hamilton Station Upgrade

The improvement to Hamilton Station included redesigning and rebuilding the existing ramp from the platform to the station entrance, off Beaumont Street.
Hawkesbury River Station Upgrade

- a new accessible pathway and pedestrian crossing to the Dangar Road car park
- new accessible parking space and kiss and ride

Hazelbrook Station Upgrade

Multi-deck Car Park

The new multi-deck car park constructed over the existing car park at Holsworthy provides 350 new parking spaces for commuters in South West Sydney.
Homebush Station Upgrade

- three new lifts to access station platforms
- weather protection canopies

- a family accessible toilet
- accessible parking spaces and kiss and ride
- a new bus shelter, improved CCTV, lighting and wayfinding.
Huntleys Point: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Improvements include:
- a new lift providing access to the wharf and a new accessible pathway from Huntleys Point Road to the new lift
- relocation of two accessible parking spaces to provide a direct link to the new pathway and lift
- upgrade of the turning circle on Huntleys Point Road and a new accessible drop-off and pick-up area
- lighting and CCTV
- replacement of existing canopies from the waiting area to the new lift and the installation of new canopies along the stairs adjacent to the new lift.
Ingleburn Station Upgrade

- three new lifts and covered walkways from the lifts to the platforms
- reconfigured station entries and new customer amenities
- upgrades to the bus stop and canopy, taxi zone, lighting, new bicycle storage and accessible parking, and formalised kiss and ride facilities.
Jannali Station Upgrade

Katoomba: New Commuter Car Park

Constructed north east of the station at the corner of the Great Western Highway and Goldsmith Place, the car park provides 85 new parking spaces, security lighting and CCTV surveillance. In addition, three new accessible parking spaces have been provided on the southern side of the station.
Kiama: New Commuter Car Park

The Kiama commuter car park was constructed on Bong Bong Road, behind Kiama Mowers, approximately 100 metres from Kiama Station. The car park provides 40 spaces including an accessible parking space, security lighting and CCTV surveillance. Parking is free and available 24 hours, seven days per week.
Killara: New Commuter Car Park

- new passenger drop off and pick up points, including 'kiss and ride' and taxi zones, and sheltered bicycle facilitieson the northern side
- sheltered bicycle facilities, a shelter for taxi and 'kiss and ride' users on the northern side of the station and upgraded bus stops with tactiles and signage on Park Avenue for improved accessibility. In addition, the upgrade included a new footpath on the northern side of the station; a new pedestrian median safety fence on the Great Western Highway and new signage on the southern side of the station.
Commuter Car Park

- approximately 23 additional spaces, a new entrance, improved traffic flow, CCTV surveillance, lighting and a covered footpath to the station
- a new 'kiss and ride' and taxi zone was also constructed on the southern side to make passenger drop off in the new car park easier

Kogarah: Transport Interchange Upgrade

The station forecourt was redesigned and facilities upgraded on surrounding roads, including changes to bus stops, 'kiss and ride' facilities, taxi zones, a pedestrian crossing and bicycle facilities.
Lapstone Station Upgrade

Merrylands: Commuter Car Parks

The NSW Government improved commuter parking at Merrylands Station by constructing 98 new spaces across two locations.
Millthorpe Station: Service Reinstatement

- The reinstatement of an on-demand service was enabled by the construction of a platform extension to provide a safe and accessible boarding point to trains.
- Features include the new 15m long platform extension, additional lighting, an information board, tactile indicators and a help point.
- A wooden picket fencing was also installed on the platform extension, matching in with the surrounding fencing.
Milsons Point: Wharf Interchange Upgrade

Mount Druitt: New Commuter Car Park

- The multi storey commuter car park is located north-east of Mount Druitt Station on the corner of North Parade and Mount Street, providing commuters with approximately 220 additional car park spaces.

Mulgrave Station Upgrade
