Our problem statements

Our Research Communities of Practice (RCoPs) have developed a range of Problem Statements in alignment with Transport’s Strategic Research Directions. Our seven RCoPs are comprised of subject matter experts and staff from across the transport cluster that meet regularly to identify Transport’s biggest challenges, opportunities and research priorities. These Problem Statements support our commitment to Future Transport Strategy 2056, which sets the 40 year vision, directions and outcomes framework for customer mobility in NSW, and guides transport investment over the longer term.

Periodically, the Research Hub will also launch Calls for Problem Statements. These calls complement our Problem Statements by allowing researchers to pitch their research proposals to us. These Calls for Problem Statements are either Open Calls for proposals on a range of topics, or Targeted Calls for proposals on a specific topic.
